Chiefs head coach Andy Reid explained that Travis Kelce’s strong start to his 14th NFL season is a product of his dedication to training during his busy offseason, as well as motivation from his new wife, Taylor Swift.

Reid told reporters that the singer “kicks him in the butt” when it comes to staying in shape after Kelce looked like a younger version of himself during Kansas City’s 33-30 overtime win against the Colts on Sunday.

“Everybody questioned with the wedding and all of that — ‘would he be out of shape and honeymooning the whole time [in the offseason]?’ and all of that,” Reid said on Monday, per KSHB 41 News.

“But he really works his rear end off and I think Taylor, you’re putting on four-hour shows, you’ve got to work hard too. So I’m sure she kicks him in the butt a little there too.”

Reid added that Kelce “takes a lot of pride” in “competing and doing [his] part.”

The three-time Super Bowl champion coach attended Kelce and Swift’s July 3 wedding at Madison Square Garden.

Reid was referencing Swift’s four-hour shows she performed on The Era Tour, which spanned from March 2023 to December 2024.

Swift was open about her rigorous months-long training program to get in top physcial shape to sing 40-plus songs on stage at her sold out shows.

Her training regimen included running on the treadmill every day while singing the entire Eras setlist aloud— ”Fast for fast songs, and a jog or a fast walk for slow songs,” according to TIME magazine.

Reid previously complimented a “svelte” Kelce and explained that he looked half his age during training camp in July.

Kelce, 36, whose production has declined in the latter half of his career, showed flashes of his prime as the Chiefs are off to a 2-0 start to the season.

The 11-time Pro Bowler racked up nine catches for 101 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs’ overtime thriller on Sunday.

He has 12 receptions for 172 yards and a touchdown on the season.

Swift flashed her left ring finger and yelled “That’s my husband!” while celebrating Kelce’s 13-yard touchdown in the first quarter.

The 14-time Grammy winner took in the action from Kelce’s suite at Arrowhead Stadium with her parents Scott and Andrea Swift, and her in-laws Donna and Ed Kelce.

Swift also rocked a Chiefs tank by Erin Andrews’ sportswear brand, WEAR, which sold out immediately.

The Chiefs visit the Dolphins (0-2) next Sunday.
