Matthew Stafford’s chemistry with star wide receiver Davante Adams seems pretty solid with the Rams.

After all, Adams had eight catches for 195 yards and two touchdowns against the Giants on Monday night.

But it sounds like Adams’ connection with another quarterback is still superior than his budding chemistry with Stafford, given comments Adams made during his appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday.

Adams was asked how long it takes to get on the same page with quarterbacks and said, “I mean, you seen with me and Aaron [Rodgers], it was a different level to our connection.”

He then spoke about how he didn’t have the same expansive role in Green Bay that he now does with the Rams, then said, “Last year, [Stafford and I] didn’t have much time to get ready for the season. I think our first time working together was… right before the season. The week of Week 1 was when we first got together.”

“It just took a little bit of time and understanding each other a little bit better. And you get products like what you saw last night,” Adams added.

“I think having a guy like Aaron Rodgers early in my career was one of the biggest blessings,” he later said, because of how their connection taught him how to be detail-oriented as a receiver.

Adams and Rodgers spent nine seasons playing together, first on the Packers and then with the Jets.

They tallied 83 touchdowns together, third most in NFL history.

Stafford and Adams have played two seasons together and have 16 touchdowns. That’s an impressive touchdown tally but still pales in comparison to what Rodgers and Adams accomplished.

Adams’ sentiment about his connection with Rodgers makes sense. But that won’t stop Rams fans from feeling a way about his comments.
