Brad Pitt and his very good dog named Odin are fighting for their lives in Heart of the Beast, a new survival thriller that opens in theaters this weekend.

Directed by David Ayer (The Beekeeper, A Working Man), with a screenplay written by Cameron Alexander, Heart of the Beast stars Brad Pitt as a retired Army Special Forces veteran named James Belmont, who is caring for his military combat dog Odin. Both James and Odin have PTSD from the trauma of combat in the Middle East.

Man and dog are about to have even more trauma, after they survive a plane crash and find themselves stranded in the Alaskan wilderness. Can they battle the forces of nature together to make it out of this one alive? You’ll have to watch the movie to find out.

Also starring J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe, Heart of the Beast sound likes the perfect movie for people who love our troops and love dogs. Heart of the Beast will only be available to watch in a movie theater, when it opens in theaters in the U.S. on Friday, September 25. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. Heart of the Beast is not yet available to watch online or on streaming.

Is the Heart of the Beast movie streaming on Netflix or Prime Video?

Heart of the Beast is not streaming on Netflix or Prime Video, and likely will not be on Netflix any time soon, due to the fact that the film is a Paramount Pictures release. Almost all Paramount movies go to Paramount’s streaming platform, Paramount+, and not to Netflix.

You will be able to purchase Heart of the Beast on Prime Video eventually, when the movie becomes available to buy and rent on digital, but you will not be able to stream Heart of the Beast on Prime Video free with a Prime subscription any time soon. If you want to watch the new Brad Pitt movie at home, you’ll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms, or wait for it to stream on Paramount+.

The official Heart of the Beast Paramount+ streaming date has not yet been announced. Right now, the movie is only in theaters. That said, we do expect to see Heart of the Beast streaming on Paramount+ eventually, but we’re not sure when. Another recent Paramount film, Scary Movie (2026), was released on digital platforms one month after opening in theaters, and began streaming on Paramount+ about three months after opening in theaters.

If Heart of the Beast follows a similar release pattern, you might see the movie on digital around late October 2026, and streaming on Paramount+ around late December 2026. (Presuming that Paramount+ and HBO Max have not yet combined into one streamer yet, as they plan to do.)
