The “View” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin revealed her 3-month-old baby had to undergo a “terrifying” skull surgery to stop a developmental issue from forming.

“He had to have cranial facial surgery which is performed by a neurosurgeon. It’s actually surgery on the skull,” she explained on the “Behind the Table” podcast Wednesday, noting it was for a condition where the skull can fuse together prematurely.

“So what can happen is, the brain can grow into it and it can cause both physical issues and developmental.”

The former White House staffer — who welcomed her son, Justin Jr., with her husband, Justin Griffin, in February — explained that their pediatrician spotted a “slight inconsistency in his head” during a check-up and told the new parents to take him to a neurosurgeon immediately.

“If you do it at three months, it’s a less invasive surgery and you have time to correct it before it can be more significant and harder for him to heal from,” Alyssa explained.

The TV personality admitted the whole ordeal was “terrifying” as a first-time parent, but learned an important lesson, which is to “trust your partner, but also trust your community.”

Although the surgery was the “scariest moment of [her] life,” the 37-year-old said she knew she just had to “trust the people who know better.”

“Knowing he was going under when he’s this little boy, knowing that the biggest risk for the surgery is actually not the outcome, it’s blood loss during the surgery, having to sign off on him having a blood transfusion and all that was so scary.”

The political commentator clarified that her son has “made a perfect, full recovery” and will wear a helmet for a year to “help correct” his skull as it’s healing.

“He has an extra layer of protection and he doesn’t mind it one bit,” she said. “He looks so cute. He looks like an old timey football player.”

Alyssa announced her pregnancy in October 2025, also revealing her February due date in an Instagram post.

“I’m so overjoyed. I went through IVF. It was hard. It took us about a year. It took us five rounds, but [my son is in] here. He’s coming.”

In an interview about her vitro fertilization journey, she told People that she was diagnosed with endometriosis during the process.

“I went undiagnosed my whole life,” she told the outlet. “So that just added to the complications.”

She and Justin dated for years before he popped the question in July 2020.

The couple walked down the aisle in November of the following year in Vero Beach, Fla.
