It’s been four months since Justin Hartley’s hit survivalist drama Tracker aired its Season 3 finale and left viewers craving more Colter Shaw adventures. And Season 4 is finally around the corner!

For those who need a refresher, Tracker Season 3, Episode 22, “The Best Ones,” saw Colter and his brother Russell (Jensen Ackles) save two kids from the government’s top-secret Chrono Stasis program that their father was involved with. But while Colter seemingly got closure on his dad’s mysterious life and death, Russell made a dangerous deal with McIntyre (Glenn Morshower) to prevent more troubling information about their dad from reaching his brother.

After Russell left town to follow McIntyre’s orders, Colter reunited with his pal Keaton (Brent Sexton). So what adventures await Colter and team in California? And what dangers await Russell? In an interview with TV Insider, Hartley teased Season 4, saying, “There’ll be something that sort of haunts Colter and you’ll see a little bit of a hint of it in the premiere. And then of course, as we do on Tracker, it comes back full circle, but you’ll start to see something that has been around and lingering for a bit that we reintroduce in Colter’s life, but I guess introduce to the audience for the first time in this season.

What Will Tracker Season 4 Be About?

He walked into a furnished garage, grabbed a beer out of the fridge, and his pal Keaton (Brent Sexton) rolled up hauling Ashton’s old truck from Echo Ridge. Colter told Keaton that the off-grid location was “a long story,” but called it “home, sort of.” Keaton agreed to help Colter fix up his dad’s old truck, and though Colter said he didn’t get all the answers he wanted, he learned his dad “was a good man in the end.” Keaton reminded Colter that “Nobody’s perfect.”Colter replied, “Not even close,” because his dad was flawed as hell! (Aside from the mysterious file, don’t forget Colter’s mom touched on Ashton’s anger issues last week!)

After Colter noted how bad his dad was at fixing cars, Season 3 ended with him sitting in the truck, saying, “I’ll get you up and running again.” We know Season 4 will follow the pro-tracker/ survivalist on more investigations, with Tracker relocating to Los Angeles, so we can’t wait to see what sunny West Coast adventures await! Maybe they’ll even involve that truck!

Season 3’s finale also saw Russell make a deal to work for McIntyre in exchange for his eventual freedom and Ashton’s file, which holds damning information. Before Russell headed off on his secret assignment, he called Reenie and begged her to cover for him. She agreed, and he left without saying goodbye to his brother, all to protect him. So will Tracker Season 4 check back in with Russell?

Is Jensen Ackles In Tracker Season 4?

Have no fear, the Shaw brothers are both returning in Season 4. “He’s in at least one [episode], and we’ll have him back when we can. I think probably in the new year, we’ll have him back for a few,” Hartley told TV Insider back in August. But Tracker is putting Ashton’s file on the back burner…

“What’s he been up to is he won’t tell me. Well, he kind of can’t, right? I mean, there’s a quid pro quo thing that happened at the end of Season 3, and he’s like, ‘As long as my brother doesn’t find out about this, I’ll do this thing for you,’” Hartley said. “But when we find him and when he reaches out to Colter, he needs help with something. One of his buddies is in dire straits, big time dire straits — and not a self-inflicted thing, just sort of something that happened to him, and he thinks of his brother Colter, and he’s like, ‘I bet you Colter can help you with this.’ So, he reaches out and of course Colter’s willing to help and it reunites the two brothers and they go on this pretty epic journey.”

Hartley said we could even see the return of Melissa Roxburgh as Colter and Russell’s sister, Dory. So consider us sat!
