The Browns have no interest in trading either of their young quarterbacks, Shedeur Sanders or Dillon Gabriel, according to team insiders.

That stance may surprise Browns fans, especially as several teams search for quarterback help with their starters sidelined. 

The Giants, Commanders and Bears belong to this group; Chicago will start 38-year-old Case Keenum against the Eagles on Monday night.

Even with the market heating up, Cleveland plans to keep both of its mid-round picks from the 2025 NFL draft.

“The Browns have no plans to trade away their No. 2 and No. 3 quarterbacks now or before the trade deadline Nov. 10,” Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot said.

Theories on social media linked Sanders to the Giants, pointing to the Ravens’ reported interest in drafting him in the fifth round last year when current Giants head coach John Harbaugh was in Baltimore.

The chatter intensified after Deshaun Watson edged Sanders for the starting job and Jaxson Dart suffered a season-ending injury, making a move to New York seem plausible.

For now, Cleveland is comfortable with Sanders as its backup, with a chance to start later this season. He is coming off a Pro Bowl rookie season, during which he threw for 1,400 yards and seven touchdowns.

Gabriel, a third-round pick and the Browns’ third-string quarterback, is on injured reserve with a back injury and is expected to miss two more games. Cleveland also received no trade offers for him before trimming its roster to 53 players on Aug. 30.

The Browns still have sixth-round rookie Taylen Green on the roster as their fourth-string quarterback. At 6-foot-6, his dual-threat skill set could appeal to other general managers. Green has been inactive all season as the team’s third quarterback.

Cleveland’s quarterback position has been a carousel over the past three seasons: the Browns started five quarterbacks in 2023, four in 2024 and three in 2025.

With Watson’s health a continuing concern, Cleveland appears intent on maintaining depth in its quarterback room.
