Dakota Johnson is adding music video star to her resume.

The actress took a break from the “Verity” press tour to make a surprise appearance at the 2026 VMAs. She stepped out halfway through the ceremony in a blush sequined Calvin Klein Collection gown for the premiere of Taylor Swift’s “Patient Zero” music video, which she stars in opposite Colin Farrell.

She also presented Swift with the first-ever first-ever Artist Director Honors award, saying, “She’s a visionary, with a relentless drive for perfection in everything that she does.”

For her unexpected cameo, the “Fifty Shades of Gray” star accessorized with a dazzling diamond necklace and wore her hair down in a straight, sleek style.

Her monochromatic look mirrors the minimalist aesthetic of the “Patient Zero” video, which sees her and Swift matching in several outfits — including similarly iridescent gowns.

The duo premiered the official music video following Swift’s acceptance speech.

“Taylor and I have been friends for a really long time and we’re very close, and we decided to work together and it’s great,” Johnson said on Ambar Lee and Leah Briars’ Fangirl Nation podcast on Thursday.

“Normally I would say ‘Don’t work with your friends,’ but we work really well together. It was so fun.”

In addition to attending Swift and Travis Kelce’s July wedding, Johnson was spotted grabbing dinner with the chart-topping star in late August.

While it’s her first time attending the VMAs, the “Fifty Shades of Grey” star has had a big month promoting “Verity” — a psychological romance-thriller, which hits theaters on Oct. 2 and also stars Anne Hathaway.

For the most recent press tour stop in London, Johnson turned heads in a sheer lace Colleen Allen gown with peekabo lingerie from Fleur du Mal — and accessorized with a suite of bling from Swift-loved designer CeCe Jewellery that may give a hint at the contents of the video.
