Sean McVay cleared the air about a bizarre incident that occurred after the Los Angeles Rams’ 30-26 loss to the Denver Broncos.

McVay left his postgame press conference after speaking for less than two minutes after the Rams’ controversial loss on Sunday. McVay received a lot of criticism for this, as it was seen as disrespectful for the media and reporters who didn’t get to ask questions.

McVay apologized about the incident and explained that it wasn’t everything it seemed during a press conference on Monday.

“I’m sorry that I missed you guys yesterday…it was never my intention to miss your questions. I’m sorry if there was a misunderstanding,” McVay said, per The California Post’s Michael Duarte.

Rams Vice President of Communications Artis Twyman already addressed what happened on social media Monday morning.

Nate Atkins of The Athletic wrote on X, “Sean McVay ducked out of his press conference before Rams media could get into it, only 10 minutes after the final whistle. Not sure I have ever seen that in this league before.”

Twyman replied to this, writing, “Again Nathan, I will not let you get on here and not represent the truth. In the press box, they announce that media that want to attend the post game news conference, leave at the five-minute mark. You chose to stay until the end of the game, which made you late.”

Regardless of the reasoning for McVay’s abrupt exit, he deserves credit for apologizing on Monday.
