“P—y,” Sirianni appeared to say to the Bears linebacker while staring at Jackson from the sideline. “You’re a p—y.”

Andy Dalton relieved Hurts for that brief timeand threw an interception on a third-and-goal from the 2-yard line with the Bears leading 7-0. 

Hurts was cleared from concussion protocol and re-entered the game.

After the ugly incident was caught on camera, Sirianni admitted he’d like to have that one back.

“Obviously, you want to always fight for your players, and protect your players. I always come away when I have a moment like that with remorse of, ‘Man, I shouldn’t have let my emotions get the best of me,’” Sirianni admitted. 

Hurts popped right up after the hit and rejoined the huddle, but referees interjected and escorted Hurts off the field and into the medical tent for evaluation. 

“Those guys are out there trying to make a play. It was close on the sideline, ended up being a penalty,” Sirianni continued. “Obviously, you never want to see your quarterback get hit like that, but it’s in the heat of the moment. I know nobody is trying to hurt anybody out there, and I always have remorse when I act that way. But I always love fighting for our players.

“I have to be more steady in that situation. … I didn’t like how I handled that.”

Hurts returned on the next drive, but the Eagles’ offense looked inept for most of the game. 

“I was just waiting for the thumbs-up. I felt fine; we already checked it,” Hurts said postgame. “I don’t know the extent of the process; obviously, wish we could have expedited things. I know I felt fine.”

Dalton said postgame that he “apologized to Hurts” for ending the drive with an interception. 

Philadelphia had just 248 yards of total offense, while Hurts threw for 153 yards and an interception.
