Former USWNT star Carli Lloyd welcomes second baby
Former USWNT star Carli Lloyd gave birth to her second baby, a son named Hunter Jax, with her husband Brian Hollins on Thursday, she shared in an Instagram post.
The newborn, who joined 2-year-old big sister Harper Anne, was pictured in a hospital basinet, with a sign revealing he weighed 9 lbs., 3 oz. and measured 20.5 inches long.
“Our hearts have never been fuller. 🤍 Welcome to the world, our sweet baby boy. 💙,” Lloyd, 44, wrote, thanking her doctors and nurses for “the best” care.
“It wasn’t the easiest delivery, which makes us even more grateful for the best team of Doctors, nurses, and everyone else who took such amazing care of us throughout this pregnancy.
“Now we’re home, soaking in all the newborn snuggles and adjusting to life as a family of four — especially with our 2-year-old learning her new role as big sister. 🥹🤍
“These days are a little crazy, a little sleepless, but incredibly special. We’re feeling beyond grateful to have our baby boy here, safe and loved, and to watch our family grow. Welcome to the family, little man. We love you more than words can say. 💙”
Lloyd — a two-time World Cup winner and two-time Olympic gold medalist — announced her second pregnancy in April and went on to work the FIFA World Cup as an analyst with Fox Sports this summer.
She previously shared that her fertility journey included two unsuccessful IVF rounds before she became pregnant with Harper Anne in 2024.
Lloyd and Hollins, who are high school sweethearts, were married in 2016.
Lloyd, a two-time FIFA Player of the Year, retired from professional soccer in 2021 after a 22-year playing career.
She played 316 matches with the USWNT and scored 134 goals for the United States, the third most in team history.
