Several Sacramento Kings reporters thirsting over guard Zach LaVine has become one of the biggest stories in sports.

During the Kings’ media day on Monday, two female reporters were heard on a hot mic talking about LaVine, who exercised his $49 million player option for the 2026–27 season with the Kings in June, and his teammate Ben Simmons’ looks.

“Hella fine!” one of the women said about LaVine. “I mean, his personality annoys the s*** out of me, so that’s what makes him less fine.”

“Zach is cute, but his personality f****** annoys me,” added the other woman. “He just seems like he’s hella, like a p****… He’s beautiful.”

These comments have gone wildly viral and sparked a lot of criticism for the two reporters, whose identities have not been confirmed.

Neither LaVine or Simmons have addressed what was said. LaVine’s wife, Hunter, has.

She commented on an Instagram post of the hot mic video and wrote, “a great start to the season!” and also reposted the video to her Instagram story with the caption,”😂😂😂😂😂” on Monday.

Hunter LaVine wasn’t done there. On Tuesday, she reposted a photo from LaVine’s media day shoot to her Instagram story and added the caption, “I love my husband’s personality 😚,” which is a clear response to the Kings reporter’s comments about her husband’s allegedly annoying personality.

Perhaps Hunter LaVine has a clear idea about who these two reporters were. If so, one would assume she’ll see them around the Kings’ Golden 1 Center arena this season.
