San Jose Sharks mascot gives young fan a terrifying surprise
Hockey is well known for being a violent sport.
But so are the mascots?
A video of the San Jose Sharks mascot, Sharkie, has gone viral on X, where he left a little girl traumatized.
As the young girl who was wearing a Sharks shirt went to hug the beloved mascot, she immediately regretted it as Sharkie moved his mouth to her head, pretending to eat her.
Once she realized what was happening, she immediately started running back to her parents, left in fear, screaming at the top of her lungs.
When she left Sharkie, all he could do was look at her and nod his head towards her.
The video ended with a family picture gathered around Sharkie, as the little girl overcame her fear of the mascot.
Since it was uploaded on Saturday morning, the video has garnered 714,800 views with 1,800 saves, 1,100 reposts, and 81 comments.
In the comments on the post, @wheresquietmike, showed an older image of Sharkie attempting to stuff a baby down his mouth, with the caption, “Some things never change.”

While playing the role of Sharkie is a job, @Alf3k was left wishing that was their job, commenting, “That’s gotta be the funnest job in the world.”
As everything appears to be all fine and well with Sharkie, the Sharks had an impressive season opener, knocking off the Florida Panthers 4-3 on Thursday night. Center Will Smith had two goals that night, and also had the game-winning assist when Luca Cagnoni won the game in overtime.
The Sharks are set to play their second game of the season in a home game against the Los Angeles Kings.
