Bears linebacker brutally roasts Jets over rout after getting ‘bored’

The Bears weren’t done tormenting the Jets even after they left the field.

Linebacker Devin Bush seemingly had a bit of a dig at the Jets after Chicago defeated Gang Green 23-12, which the Bears player called “one of the easiest NFL games I ever played in.”

Sunday’s game at Soldier Field was a relatively easy one for the Bears defense, which was able to get plenty of rest as the Jets only had the ball for 17 minutes through the entire game and ran a total of 32 plays.

When asked about it afterward, Bush seemed more than happy to play another game where the offense gets so much time on the field.

“It’s fun, man,” he told reporters. “We’ve got to get ourselves into more situations like that so we can get the offense the ball as much as possible. As you can see, they’re capable of doing a lot of great things. Holding the ball for what was it, 42 minutes? That is kind of wild. Probably one of the easiest NFL games I have played in. I’m not sore at all. So it was great.”

But Bush wasn’t done there.

“It was boring,” he replied about his experience watching so much of the game. “I got bored. I got bored a couple of times. I had to stay warm just in case. I know we had a couple sudden change moments that I felt like got the defense going.”

By all accounts, the Jets loss on Sunday was an ugly one for Gang Green.

The Jets dropped to 1-3 on the season, and head coach Aaron Glenn said after the game that he was “disappointed” by the way his team played, noting the number of penalties that negated turnovers and the defense’s inability to get the Bears defense off the field.

“I’m very, very disappointed, on a number of different levels,” Glenn said. “We all have to muster up something inside to get this turned in the right direction when we have a game like this.”
