How Chad Lowe’s LA community is rallying around family after daughter Fiona’s ‘difficult’ death at 13
Chad Lowe’s family is receiving support from their Los Angeles community after the devastating suicide of his 13-year-old daughter, Fiona Lowe.
“Several families from Fiona’s school have reached out offering how to help,” a source told Page Six.
“Meal trains as well as GoFundMe accounts were offered because everyone seems to want to help. They are only sharing things with their very small, private circle.” Page Six has learned the family has kindly declined the offers.
According to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner, Fiona died on Sept. 29 in a local hospital by suicide.
A statement from the family to Page Six read, “Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.”
Page Six has obtained a second email sent out to parents at Fiona’s school on Monday about ways they are offering support to students.
“As we begin a new week, I want to take a moment to acknowledge this past week has been a difficult one for many in our community,” the middle school principal said.
“We know that students, staff, and families may be processing a range of emotions. Counseling and wellness supports remain available on campus for students and staff who may need someone to talk with or simply a little extra support.”
It concluded, “As we move forward together, we will continue to take care of one another while keeping our students connected, engaged, and learning.”
The initial email sent following the death informed parents that a student had died. The email did not name the student.
The family has dealt with a lot of hardship that led to support in the community over the last two years.
In January 2025, Chad took to social media to address their home being burned down in the Pacific Palisades fire.
“This is what remains of 10 years of building our lives,” Chad said on social media in a carousel of photos showing the destruction. “Our hearts are broken, but we are comforted by all the well wishes, and offers of assistance. We are ok and will be ok.
“We have each other. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.”
Chad — the younger brother of actor Rob Lowe — works on the ABC show “9-1-1: Nashville” and is known for his roles in “Pretty Little Liars” and “Melrose Place.”
