‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4, Episode 10: Every Fan-Favorite Character Who Returns For A Finale Reunion

Ted Lasso Season 4, Episode 10, “Being Alive,” pulled out the big guns in terms of returning OG characters.

We saw Phil Dunster reprise his fan-favorite role as Jamie Tartt earlier in the season, and James Lance and Sarah Niles returned as Trent Crimm and Dr. Sharon Fieldstone. But Season 4’s finale featured the biggest in-show Ted Lasso reunion yet, and the way it happened will likely surprise fans!

Spoilers for Ted Lasso Season 4, Episode 10 ahead.

After Mae’s (Annette Badland) unexpected death in Season 4’s penultimate episode, fans wondered if former AFC Richmond men’s players and familiar faces like Nate (Nick Mohammed) would return to pay their respects to the beloved Crown & Anchor pub owner at a funeral, much like how everyone showed up for Rebecca’s dad’s funeral back in Season 2. In somewhat of a twist, that wasn’t the case!

Instead of seeing Mae’s funeral, we saw Ted (Jason Sudeikis), his family, the women’s team, and more locals celebrating Mae’s life at her pub. The returning Ted Lasso characters didn’t appear until later in the episode, in connection with the Lady Greyhounds’ big final match at Nelson Road.

It all started when Keeley (Juno Temple) made another video to hype the women’s team. While the first was seen as a failure in her mind, the second went so viral that even Nate the Great (Mohammed) saw it and popped by the club for a visit while he was in town seeing family.

After giving out hugs and meeting Alice, Nate reveals that he’s coaching the Polish national football team, he married Jade (Edyta Budnik), and they have a daughter fittingly named Athena — a nod to their Meet Cute restaurant, A Taste of Athens. He’s also just in time for a Diamond Dogs reunion (featuring “The Cat People,” aka Alice) where the group advises an anxious Roy (Brett Goldstein) on how to be a good dad.

But Nate isn’t the only great returning character in Season 4’s finale…

To add to the Lady Greyhounds’ final match magic, Ted Lasso also shows OG men’s team players Dani Rojas (Cristo Fernández), Isaac McAdoo (Kola Bokinni), Maas (David Elsendoorn), Montlaur (Stephen Manas), Zoreaux (Moe Jeudy-Lamous), Colin Hughes (Billy Harris), Moe Bumbercatch (Moe Hashim), and Sam Obisanya (Toheeb Jimoh) in the stands cheering the women on.

Thanks to Roy asking, “Do you ever second-guess leaving Richmond for Man U?” We learn what Sam’s been up to. And in keeping Ted Lasso’s Wizard of Oz references up, Sam replies, “Sure, but as Dorothy learned, sometimes you have to go away to know where home truly is.” (FYI: Sam claims Dorothy is his auntie, who left his uncle for a dance instructor for a little while. “Big scandal in the Obisanya family!”)

We even get a quick glimpse of Will Kitman (Charlie Hiscock), who’s assisting Isaac as he shaves Beard’s head towards the end of the episode. Awwww!

While Ted Lasso has yet to be officially renewed for Season 5, the Season 4 finale clearly showed the series has lots more story left to tell, which means more potential for OG characters to come back in the future. Until then, be sure to catch up on all of DECIDER’s other Ted Lasso Season 4 coverage.
