Nebraska Cornhuskers fans are dropping serious money on old stadium urinal troughs
I’m not sure what the going rate is for a urinal these days. If you told me they run several thousand dollars, I’d believe you, and if you told me you could get away with dropping $150 on one, I’d believe that too.
It turns out that urinals that have spent time inside a college football stadium are in demand and even commanding high prices.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers are gearing up to renovate Memorial Stadium, and that means getting rid of some of the old features and fixtures and selling them off to fans with some disposable income.

Of course, there was one piece of memorabilia that caught everyone’s attention, and that was the urinal troughs.
Because, again, who wouldn’t want a urinal trough that has seen a century’s worth of game days?
The vintage urinals are on sale and commanding a price of $3,000 a piece.

Even wilder, The Athletic reports that they’ve managed to sell seven of the thirty available porcelain urinals, which is — carry the one; switch the numerator and denominator… — $21,000 in urinals.

That’s high, but not a bad deal if you’re looking for a piece to really pull together the bathroom in your finished basement or sports bar.
Hell, I think it would be mighty fine in the living room. What a conversation piece.
“Yeah, we got rid of the old coffee table a couple months back and replaced it with this urinal trough from Memorial Stadium. You know, it actually predates light beer by several decades. Rumor has it Richard Nixon may have even used it one time…”

That is some big-brain thinking from the folks at Nebraska because most of us would’ve just thrown our century-old porcelain urinals in the dump.

But, as it turns out, as the adage states: one man’s trash is another’s urine-soaked treasure.
