Mamdani’s DSA pals may be pushing him out of his lefty comfort zone
Opening his political circle is a tactic that is failing Mayor Zohran Mamdani
Seems a hole in Crapdammy’s tight — now loosening — circle. Stuff around him is opening. Not tight as it was. Forget the buses, rent freezes, filthy streets, bicycles, dislike for citizens of this planet’s greatest city. A devotee once said: “Crapdammy got more attention from my wife than I did.”
His witchery is reaching non-Commie ears. His people who get an A for hatred are whispering.
He told staff that Darializa Avila Chevalier, someone he endorsed, could become a problem. This woman who will replace Congressman Adriano Espaillat said she uses the American flag as a napkin. She was recently at a secret meeting on the West Side with other DSA members. They discussed plans to get arrested at the UN. (A goal she achieved Sept. 24 while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was at the UN.) Members plan to pressure the mayor if he goes off-script and softens his socialist tone. Some say he’s kind to business.
Fret not. Little Crapdammy will get louder. November cometh. He will get louder — even if not taller.
Might someone look into what those folks close to him are doing and who might be babysitting for his honor.
Politicians yak instincts
Pols are not always orators. As recounted in “The Stupidest Things Ever Said by Politicians,” in 1987, Sen. Daniel Inouye, the Iran-Contra committee chairman, said on Oliver North’s testimony: “If intent on submitting a final report that makes sense, his testimony becomes essential but not absolutely necessary.”
Same book: Jeb Bush announcing for Florida governor: “I am running not because I am George and Barbara Bush’s son. I am running because I am George P. and Noelle and Jeb Jr.’s father.”
The book “Anything for a Vote” has Bill Clinton inscribing an official copy of his speech to a friend. He wrote: “To Monica Lewinsky with best wishes, Bill Clinton.”
Jesse Ventura’s “S–t Politicians Say” on John Kerry’s 2013 first trip overseas as Sec’y of State saying: “In America you have the right to be stupid . . . And a right to be disconnected to somebody else if you want to be. And we tolerate that. We somehow make it through that.”
Alexander Hamilton on Thomas Jefferson: “He is not scrupulous about the means of success, not very mindful of the truth, and he is a contemptible hypocrite.”
Same book VP Dan Quayle: “Bearing a child alone mocks the importance of fathers.”
In Cormac O’Brien’s “Secret Lives of the US Presidents,” it’s reported that Calvin Coolidge was never without a cigar — admirers sent him over 10,000 boxes of cigars — “and he smoked them all.”
Ask not how I know. I know.
Socially unskilled
Back to our little mayor: Chats of his influencers are so poorly monitored that in one they pitched ideas for his cockamamie videos. His staffers debated ideas about raising taxes. They even bashed the governor.
Overheard in the State Department: “You know the stock market is in bad shape when the Dow Jones and your cholesterol are the same number.”
Repeated only in New York City, kids, only in New York City.
