Gypsy Rose Blanchard slams ‘gossip’ surrounding ex-fiancé Ken Urker’s death: ‘Be kind’
Gypsy Rose Blanchard spoke out about the “gossip” surrounding her ex-fiancé Ken Urker’s death.
“Your gossip could be the darkest time in someone’s life,” she wrote in an Instagram message on Thursday.
“Be kind,” the message added.
In the next slide, Blanchard shared a picture of a bouquet of roses with an envelope addressed to Urker.
Blanchard, 35, captioned her post, “#kenanslaw,” referring to the name of the online harassment petition she started in the wake of Urker’s death.
Urker was “found dead upon arrival” at his Louisiana home on his 34th birthday last Thursday, the Lafourche Parish Public Information Officer told Page Six.
Cops said they “found no evidence of foul play” but were “continuing the death investigation.”
A police report obtained by Page Six revealed Urker was found with drug paraphernalia and a gun at the time of his death.
Shortly after news broke of his passing, Blanchard claimed in a social media post that Urker died of a suspected overdose.
Blanchard started the petition last weekend, claiming Urker faced an “overwhelming amount of online scrutiny” and “targeted harassment and cyberbullying” before his death.
She insisted the law “is about changing the way social-media platforms handle repeated reports of harassment,” and “not about silencing criticism or taking away anyone’s freedom of speech.”
Blanchard also declared that Urker’s passing “has made me determined to turn pain into purpose.”
“I cannot change what happened, but I can advocate for a better system for the next person who feels like no one is listening,” she wrote.
Blanchard and her 1-year-old daughter Aurora attended a private memorial service for Uker in Louisiana on Saturday, according to TMZ.
Urker’s sister Autumn, who has accused Blanchard of lying about details surrounding Urker’s death, was reportedly not present.
Page Six exclusively reported that Blanchard and Urker officially broke up a month before his passing.
We hear the reason they ended things was due to Urker’s mental health battle.
“She missed him. She wanted him back, obviously, and he just wasn’t in the right frame of mind,” a source told us. “His mentality of mental health wasn’t good for the past few months.”
The pair’s final texts were about their daughter Aurora, who will turn 2 in December.
Urker and Blanchard met in 2017 while she was serving time in prison for her role in her mom Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard’s murder.
They got engaged a year later, but broke up in 2019.
Blanchard went on to marry another pen pal, Louisiana teacher Ryan Scott Anderson, in June 2022. She filed for divorce from Anderson in 2024 after she was released from prison, and subsequently rekindled her romance with Urker.
