Teen speed demon busted for going nearly 150 mph in his BMW — in a 65 mph zone: cops

A Connecticut teenager in a high-powered BMW was speeding down the highway at nearly 150 mph — more than double the speed limit of 65 mph, according to state police.

Orlando Perez, 19, of Groton, was allegedly barreling down Interstate 395 Wednesday in Putnam when a cop clocked him going 147 mph, pulled him over in Danielson and took him into custody around 9 p.m., according to WTNH.

He was driving a ritzy BMW M3, which starts at $80,000 for the base model, according to Edmunds.

The alleged speed demon was slapped with a reckless driving charge and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond. 

He is scheduled to show up in Danielson Superior Court on Oct. 21.
