‘Cornell 7’ rape accuser detailed self-harm struggle weeks before frat house attack: report

The Cornell University student who claimed she was gang-raped by a group of fraternity brothers engaged in ritualized cutting weeks before the alleged incident.

Jane Doe cut herself and left scars on her legs in August 2024, just two months prior to the night she was allegedly plied with drugs and raped by the ‘Cornell 7’ at a Chi Phi frat house, she revealed in her November 2024 statement to the Cornell Police Department, which was first published in full by CBS News.

During that encounter, Doe claimed that one of the fraternity brothers brought up her scars but then dropped the subject, which only made her feel more isolated that night.

“I remember someone bringing up the scars I have on my legs from self-inflicted cutting that I had done in August of this year,” she told police.

“Hearing that my scars were brought up, but that none of them cared to ask about them made me feel super isolated and that I didn’t matter as a person to these men,” she added in her statement.
