Jessica Lange airs her ‘bone of contention’ with ‘f–king cheap’ FX after ‘American Horror Story’ return
Jessica Lange blasted FX as “f–king cheap” for not providing a car service to the cast of “American Horror Story” Season 3.
“We had to drive ourselves,” the actress, 77, declared while reflecting on the experience with co-stars Sarah Paulson, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe and more at PaleyFest on Thursday.
“Thank you, FX,” Lange quipped in a now-viral video captured by a fan.
She went on to give the network a sarcastic salute as audience members — and Paulson, 51 — laughed.
The Oscar winner, who played Fiona Goode on the show’s “Coven” iteration in 2013, remembered, “We would drive ourselves home at like 4:00 or 5:00 in the morning, park on some street in the French Quarter [in New Orleans] and find our way home.
“Because they were too f–king cheap,” she continued, clarifying elsewhere in the conversation that she ultimately “had a good time” since “New Orleans is a good place to shoot.”
While Paulson did not weigh in on the lack of drivers, she clapped her hands and doubled over with laughter at Lange’s comments.
Social media users praised Lange for speaking out, calling it “kind of wild” that cast members did not have drivers.
One joked, “I wonder how many people were absolutely lit in the corner and swore up and down that they saw Jessica Lange walking down the street at 4 AM and no one believed them.”
Reps for FX did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
In addition to Season 3, the Tony winner has taken part in five other “AHS” seasons: “Murder House,” “Asylum,” “Freak Show,” “Apocalypse” and the latest greatest hits rendition.
Lange, who earned two Emmys for her roles in the horror anthology, explained Thursday why she agreed to return for Season 13 after eight years away.
“I said, ‘Well, I might consider if I can do all four characters that I had originated, and also work with all the rest of the actors,” the Golden Globe winner explained, per The Hollywood Reporter. “Because we were a repertory company, … and I loved that part of it, really, really loved that part.”
Ryan Murphy previously told Vogue in August that her one condition for returning was having a musical number.
Lange insisted on Thursday she is all done with the show despite wishing she was “able to do more than an episode here or an episode there” with “a couple of” her characters.
“It was great fun,” the “King Kong” star said, “but I don’t see any future in it. We’re not going to keep bringing these old bitches back. We’ve had enough!”
