‘Cornell 7’ accuser sent roommate 3-letter text during alleged gang rape, newly released messages show

“Cornell 7” accuser Jane Doe sent her roommate a three-letter text during the time she alleges she was gang raped — which a lawyer for one of the accused frat brothers cites as proof she wasn’t too wasted to consent.

Jane Doe’s roommate texted her at 3:05 a.m. on Oct. 20, 2024 to ask her, “You coming home tn [tonight]?” according to a screenshot shared by TMZ show.

“idk,” the accuser replied, using the three-letter abbreviation for “I don’t know.”

The text appears to have been sent from Jane Doe’s phone in the middle of what she later alleged was a drunken, ketamine-fuelled gang-rape in the Chi Phi fraternity house on Cornell University’s Ithaca, New York, campus.

Here’s the latest on the ‘Cornell 7’ frat probe:

The exchange took place between half an hour and an hour after Doe says multiple men were snorting ketamine off her body, and she was so intoxicated she couldn’t process what was going on.

At least one of the seven accused fraternity brothers’ lawyers says that the messages — which featured in Cornell’s internal disciplinary hearing — show the woman was not incapacitated and could read, process, and respond to messages, TMZ reported.

Jane Doe’s roommate, who sent the first message, later shared a picture of their sorority dorm room on social media at around 11:15 a.m. on the morning after the alleged gang rape, along with the caption, “It was a good night when only one out [of] three of us made it back.”

Doe later returned home and began recollecting her memories of the night in the days and weeks that followed, her roommate said.
