Judge thrashes killer dad Luciano Frattolin as he’s sentenced for murdering daughter, 9, in upstate NY: ‘World of self made delusion’
ELIZABETHTOWN, NY – Canadian dad Luciano Frattolin has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for drowning his 9-year-old daughter in a swamp as part of a sick revenge plot against his ex-wife.
“You live in a world of self made delusion of wealth and image when the greatest accomplishment in your life could’ve been as a great father,” Judge Tatiana Coffinger blasted at his sentencing in an upstate New York court Wednesday.
“I hope at some point in your life you will realize what you have done,” the jurist said.
Frattolin, a 46-year-old failed coffee entrepreneur was convicted in August by a jury of second-degree murder for killing little Melina in the Adirondacks and then ditching her body near Ticonderoga during a July 2025 vacation.
He then claimed she was kidnapped, prompting an Amber alert and a manhunt across the mountainous region.
Coffinger also hit Frattolin with an additional one-to-three years behind bars for hiding her body, which will run consecutive to the life sentence on the murder charge.
Frattolin was motivated by his animus toward Melina’s mom, Kali Galanis, who won full custody of the girl after she split from Frattolin in 2019, prosecutors alleged at trial.
He maintained his innocence at the sentencing.
