Anne Heche’s son accused of being a ‘deadbeat dad’ even after his toddler’s autism diagnosis
Anne Heche’s son Homer Laffoon continues to be a “deadbeat dad” despite his almost-3-year-old son’s autism diagnosis, the child’s mother, Jessica Lamberto, exclusively claimed to Page Six.
Lamberto shared with us that their son, Rocco, is nonverbal, has global developmental delay (GDD) and was recently diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) level 2, which requires substantial support.
“I’m still in shock with Rocco being diagnosed, even though I already knew. As a mother, I knew,” the 42-year-old lamented. “But hearing it confirmed just shattered my heart.”
She is also awaiting the results of his recent MRI.
Lamberto, who described herself as a “single mom,” and Rocco live with her mother in Reche Canyon, California. The former told us she spends her days driving the toddler to intensive physical, occupational, speech and behavioral therapy appointments “every day of the week.”
She branded Laffoon, 24, a “s–ty person” who has “failed” his only child, as he has allegedly “never, ever, ever” reached out to check on him. Lamberto told us she’d “never forgive” Laffoon for being an absentee parent.
Page Six can confirm that Riverside County’s Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) has an open child support case against Laffoon on behalf of Lamberto.
As recently as August, DCSS notified her that he had not yet been served, telling her in part, “At this time, we may not have enough information to identify or locate the parent ordered to pay support.”
Lamberto told us she’d like to “explore” additional evaluations, specialists, testing and functional and integrative medical care as well as nutritional support for Rocco, but “unfortunately, many of these opportunities aren’t covered by [her] insurance.”
She has finally “reached the point” of accepting that she “can’t do everything alone,” so she’s launching a GoFundMe to help cover the mounting costs of her son’s specialized needs.
“I’m just so burnt out. It’s nonstop. I don’t even feel like myself anymore. I’m so just mentally and emotionally exhausted. I can’t tell you how tired I am,” Lamberto explained through tears, making sure to stress that her beautiful boy — who is “so much more than his diagnosis” — keeps her going.
“He loves giving me huge morning hugs and laying his head on my chest. He makes silly faces and does funny little dances because he knows they will make me laugh,” she gushed.
“He loves being outside, helping his grandma water the garden, exploring flowers and plants, and going on evening walks with his German shepherd.”
Even though Rocco “doesn’t use words” — yet — Lamberto emphasized that he’s “so smart” and “understands everything” she says.
“He has a beautiful personality,” she marveled. “He loves deeply.”
Lamberto was friends with Laffoon when she found out she was pregnant with his child about six months after Heche died in a tragic car accident in August 2022 at age 53. Laffoon and his 17-year-old half-brother, Atlas Tupper, became equal beneficiaries of the actress’ estate.
Lamberto told us that Laffoon — who serves as an executive assistant at Los Angeles-based media company John Wells Productions — was initially undecided about how involved he wanted to be in both the pregnancy and birth.
She claimed to the Daily Mail in November 2025 that he ultimately bailed on going to the hospital when Rocco was born on Oct. 17, 2023, and even refused to sign his birth certificate.
In fact, Lamberto alleged that Laffoon’s father — cameraman-turned-real estate agent Coleman “Coley” Laffoon — once told her, “Homer didn’t want any of this. Homer didn’t want a son. Homer didn’t want to be a dad.”
Lamberto claimed Homer didn’t meet Rooco until he was 2 months old — and hasn’t seen him since May 2025.
Reps for Homer and Coley did not respond to Page Six’s repeated requests for comment.
