Kyle Juszczyk pleads for disgruntled ex-49ers star to ‘come home’

San Francisco 49ers star fullback Kyle Juszczyk wants his team to address its injury-plagued defensive line with a familiar face.

The Indianapolis Colts fell to 2-4 on the season after their 26-20 loss to the previously winless Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Colts edge rusher made waves with comments he made to the media after Sunday’s loss.

“I mean, I’m sick and tired of the same song and dance every year,” a visibly frustrated Buckner postgame.

He has a right to be frustrated, given that the Colts haven’t made the postseason since the 2020 season—which was Buckner’s first season with the franchise.

ESPN’s NFL Instagram account reposted a clip of his comment on Sunday. The top reply is from Juszczyk, who wrote, “Come home @dbuck_99”.

The 49ers selected the 32-year-old Buckner with the No. 7 overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft. He spent the first four seasons of his NFL career in San Francisco before signing with the Colts in free agency, which is where he has been ever since.

Juszczyk and Bucker were teammates for three seasons, from 2017 to 2019.

Juszczyk’s close friend and teammate, George Kittle, was openly campaigning for San Francisco to pursue a trade for Los Angeles Chargers edge rusher Khalil Mack last week.

But a deal for Buckner might be easier to execute, if only because Buckner knows what to expect from his former franchise.

Plus, the veteran lineman clearly wants out of Indianapolis.
