Billy Bush fought with ‘unhinged’ author at Jennifer Meyer’s star-studded wedding

The fracas surrounding socialite Amy Griffin’s memoir spilled over into Jennifer Meyer’s star-studded wedding earlier this month.

New York society is already abuzz as Griffin has been locked in a legal battle over the best-selling book, and now, entertainment journalist Billy Bush claims that Griffin accosted him over his coverage of the debacle.

Bush claimed on Monday’s episode of his “Hot Mics” podcast that the “unhinged” writer tried “putting [him] in [his] place and embarrassing [him] in front of” hundreds of guests.

Bush, 55, alleged Griffin, 49, “was telling anyone who would listen not to talk to” him, presumably over him publicly casting doubt on the veracity of her claims in her 2025 memoir, “The Tell.”

“The Tell,” notably, recounts Griffin’s rape in middle school by a childhood teacher, the memory of which she claims to have recovered via MDMA-assisted therapy decades later.

The venture capitalist, however, is currently being sued by a former classmate who claims the sexual abuse in the book mirrored her own, insisting the story was stolen from her own childhood.

Griffin has denied adopting the woman’s trauma as her own and filed a defamation countersuit in June.

Bush, who has covered the legal drama on his podcast, claimed on Monday that he noticed Demi Moore trying to convince Griffin to speak with him while at Meyer’s high-profile nuptials in Hawaii.

“Demi [was] saying, ‘It’s OK, you can go talk to him,’” he said. “Like ‘Amy, it’s alright, stop!’ This whole scene is unfolding. And then finally, [Griffin] comes at me.”

After Griffin allegedly stumbled and sent her purse — and all its contents — flying, the “shaking” and “sweating” author told Bush, “You don’t know me.”

Griffin allegedly went on to rail against Bush for speculating she plagiarized the art on her book cover, to which he replied, “OK, I can see you’re upset. I don’t think this is the time nor the place to have this discussion. I’d love to talk to you on the record and/or off. Either way, at another time, but not now.”

Boasting he was “calm and cool the whole time” — and praised by others for how “beautifully” he handled the interaction — Bush claimed his girlfriend, Allison Wise, was also approached by Griffin.

She allegedly asked Wise, “How could you be with someone who’s abusing me?… He’s doing this for his entertainment.”

Bush lashed out at Griffin’s “narcissism” and “nerve,” saying, “This is another woman’s wedding. Imagine making it all about you, right?”

He, however, shared a positive take on Griffin’s husband, John Griffin.

“I felt that he was nice, he was reasonable, even-tempered and, let’s just be real, husband of the century,” Bush quipped.

Reps for Amy, Moore and Meyer did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.

Meyer and husband Geoffrey Ogunlesi tied the knot on the island of Lanai on Oct. 10, with Leonardo DiCaprio, Courteney Cox and more A-listers.

The bride’s ex-husband, Tobey Maguire, officiated the ceremony.

The jewelry designer defended the “unconventional” decision in a Vogue interview Thursday, calling the actor’s role “so special.”

Bush, similarly, gushed over Maguire, 51, as delivering “funny and self-effacing” remarks from the altar that gave him “hope for humanity.”
