‘Power Rangers’ star Amy Jo Johnson ‘happy to be alive’ after Donnie Wahlberg’s private jet skidded off Vegas runway
“Power Rangers” star Amy Jo Johnson said she is “happy to be alive” after a private jet carrying a group — including the actress and Donnie Wahlberg — skidded off a Las Vegas airport runway.
Johnson was aboard the Dassault Falcon 50 that failed to get airborne during takeoff at Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport on Sunday.
The plane ran out of runway and crashed into a fence, closing two runways and causing flight delays.
“It was an eventful weekend. That’s for sure. Watching the incredible Donnie Wahlberg and his mates crush it in their last show in Vegas,” Johnson, 56, wrote on Instagram Monday.
“And then surviving a very hairy plane situation. But we did. And I’m grateful and very happy to be alive!” she added.
The actress, who played Kimberly Hart on “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” from 1993 to 1995, shared several photos documenting the ordeal, including a shot from inside the aircraft and an image showing the plane’s wing striking the fence.
The flight crew was seen praying on the tarmac alongside Wahlberg after the incident.
The New Kids on the Block singer, 57, responded to Johnson’s post in the comments.
“You rock Amy Jo! So thankful for you, and for my buddy Matt! So very blessed!” he wrote, referencing Johnson’s boyfriend and “Power Rangers” writer Matt Hotson.
Wahlberg reassured fans that everyone aboard was safe and crediting the pilots for preventing a more serious accident.
“We’re all OK. I’m OK. We were taking off and didn’t get up in the air and ran out of runway,” he said in an Instagram video Monday.
“I’m just going to tell you these pilots saved our lives. And God covered us,” he added.
Wahlberg said the pilots managed to avoid fences, trucks, heavy equipment and dumpsters as the jet veered off the runway.
“God is good,” he said, holding back tears. “We had just finished praying, and I looked out the window and said, ‘We are not getting up in the air today.’”
“But we’re safe and thankful and all is well. Don’t worry,” he added.
The Dassault Falcon 50 skidded off Runway 1L and hit one of the airport’s perimeter fences. No injuries were reported.
A flight-tracking map shared online showed the jet taxiing onto the runway before overshooting the pavement and veering right to a stop.
The FAA temporarily halted flights after declaring an “aircraft emergency,” while two runways were closed for inspection, causing delays.
Wahlberg had been traveling to Las Vegas for New Kids on the Block’s residency, The Right Stuff, at Dolby Live inside Park MGM.
Johnson attended the show with Hotson as the group wrapped its run over the weekend after a string of performances in the city.
