When Is ‘The Gilded Age’ Coming Back? ‘The Gilded Age’ Season 4 Premiere Date
Is it time once more to return to the decadent drama of HBO‘s The Gilded Age?
The Gilded Age is HBO’s massive hit period drama from Julian Fellowes, the mastermind behind Downton Abbey, and co-creator and co-showrunner Sonja Warfield. The series is set in 1880s New York, where the fussy aristocrats of the “Old New York” must contend with the arrival of super rich robber barons, railroad tycoons, and oil magnates who made their riches on their own.
Carrie Coon stars as Bertha Russell, a character loosely inspired by the real life society queen Alma Vanderbilt, and Morgan Spector is her roguish husband, George Russell. Season 3 ended with the usually aligned couple split after Bertha went against George’s wishes and wed their beloved daughter Gladys (Taissa Farmiga) to an English duke (Ben Lamb). Even though Gladys grew to love the Duke of Buckingham — and finished the season excitedly telling her mother she was pregnant — George couldn’t forgive Bertha for her ruthless streak.
Elsewhere in the show, the dashing Dr. William Kirkland (Jordan Donica) proposed to Peggy Scott (Denée Benton), an alliance was forged between wealthy widow (and former ladies maid) Enid Winterton (Kelley Curran) and the closeted Oscar Van Rhijn (Blake Ritson), and footman Jack Trotter (Ben Ahlers) officially left service and embraced the life of a self-made inventor.
What new dazzling party scenes await us in The Gilded Age Season 4? Will Larry (Harry Richardson) and Marian (Louisa Jacobson) reunite? Will George come home to Bertha?
