If you didn’t get a chance to see Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson’s steamy new thriller on the big screen, you’ll soon be able to watch it from the privacy of your home, because Verity is coming to digital to buy and rent tomorrow.

Based on Colleen Hoover’s 2018 novel of the same name, the Verity movie was directed by Michael Showalter (yes, the Wet Hot American Summer guy) and written by Nick Antosca. Anne Hathaway stars as Verity Crawford a fictional bestselling author who, for some mysterious reason, is unable to finish the highly-anticipated next book in her popular book series.

Enter Lowen Ashleigh (Dakota Johnson), a struggling writer looking for work. When Verity’s husband, Jeremy Crawford (Josh Hartnett) reaches out to hire Lowen as his wife’s ghostwriter, to finish the series, she accepts. But in the process of writing, Lowen uncovers some dark secrets about Verity and Jeremy that calls Verity’s entire career into question.

The film was a modest hit in theaters, and now Amazon MGM hopes to make even more money in digital sales. But before you drop $25 to watch Verity at home, you should know we expect to see Verity streaming free on Prime Video soon.

Where to watch the Verity movie on streaming:

Beginning on Tuesday, October 27 at 12 a.m. ET (which is also October 26 at 9 p.m. PT), Verity will be available to buy and rent digitally on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Fandango At Home, and more. The price may vary depending on which platform you use to purchase the film, but on Amazon Prime the film costs $24.99 to buy a digital copy, and $19.99 to rent. If you rent the movie, you’ll have 48 hours to watch the movie after hitting “play.”

The Verity DVD, 4K UHD, and Blu-ray release date has not yet been announced.

Verity is not yet streaming on any subscription streaming services, but we do expect to see Verity streaming free on Amazon Prime Video soon, because Verity is an Amazon MGM movie, and therefore go to streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video.

When will the Verity movie be streaming on Prime Video for free?

The Verity movie streaming release date on Prime Video has not yet been announced, but you might see Verity streaming free-to-subscribers on Prime Video in the next few weeks to one month, around late November or early December 2026.

Another 2026 Amazon MGM movie, Masters of the Universe began streaming on Amazon Prime about a month and a half, or seven weeks, after releasing in theaters. If Verity follows a similar release strategy, you might see Verity streaming free on Amazon Prime Video around mid-to-late November 2026. But other MGM movies took up to two or three months to come to Prime Video, so you might be waiting until December or even January.

This is all speculation. The streaming releases for Amazon MGM movies that go to theaters have varied wildly by title. In the meantime, you can buy or rent the Verity movie online.
