See Chris Brown repeatedly bash producer over head with bottle in London club — as he avoids jail time
The moment Chris Brown repeatedly bashed a producer over the head with a tequila bottle during his London club attack in 2023 was revealed as he avoided jail time.
In shocking footage obtained by Page Six, the musician is seen assaulting producer Abe Diaw on the packed dance floor at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, Central London, in February 2023.
Brown grabs Diaw’s hood and aims for his head with the bottle repeatedly. His vocal coach, Omololu Akinlolu, is also seen grabbing and trying to punch Diaw.
The scuffle moved into another room where Brown and Akinlolu continued to throw punches at Diaw, before others broke up the fight.
The shocking footage comes as the “Forever” crooner avoided jail time after pleading guilty to the attack.
Brown made an appearance at Southwark Crown Court on Monday to be sentenced for the assault of his former friend.
The judge handed him an eight-month suspended sentence after he pleaded guilty to affray, a criminal act involving a fight or the threat of violence by two or more people that disturbs the public peace.
His co-defendant, Akinlolu, also avoided jail time and received a suspended sentence after pleading guilty to the same charge.
During the sentencing, Judge Tony Baumgartner said, “You, Brown, were holding a tequila bottle in your right hand when you reached Diaw [and] you struck him to the left side of his head whilst holding his hood,” per The Sun.
“The repeated use of a glass bottle in that way, especially aimed at the head, was plainly dangerous. It carried the risk of delivering a more serious injury than was ultimately sustained,” Baumgartner continued.
According to the outlet, the court heard that Brown played a “leading role” in the attack, which took place over a frenzied 20-second period.
Prosecutor Heidi Stonecliffe KC described Brown’s weapon as a “heavy square-shaped tequila bottle” and said he approached Diaw at around 3 a.m.
Following the assault, Diaw went to hospital with head and knee injuries.
An MRI scan taken in early March showed a “high grade injury to a ligament on the inner side of the left knee,” the court heard.
As Page Six previously reported, Brown was arrested in March 2025, two years after the incident.
He was detained at the five-star Lowry Hotel on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, for which he was later charged.
Brown, who initially denied attacking Diaw, posted a £5 million ($6.75 million) bail.
In October 2023, Diaw filed a lawsuit against Brown, claiming the “Kiss Kiss” singer had assaulted him eight months prior.
The producer alleged Brown “inflicted severe and lasting injuries” after “beating him over the head” with a bottle of Don Julio 1942, leaving him unconscious for 30 seconds.
Brown has had multiple legal issues over the last 20 years.
Back in July, the R&B singer was ordered to pay his former housekeeper $13 million after she was brutally attacked by his 200-pound dog in 2020.
His most famous legal scandal happened in 2009, when he pleaded guilty to felony assault for brutally beating his then-girlfriend, Rihanna.
