‘I Dream of Jeannie’ star Barbara Eden, 95, steps out nearly 2 months after ‘sudden illness’ sidelined TV legend

Barbara Eden was in good spirits as she stepped out over the weekend, nearly two months after the “I Dream of Jeannie” star was forced to cancel an appearance due to health scare.

The 95-year-old actress was spotted Saturday getting out of her car in Los Angeles wearing an elegant black outfit with a red jacket draped over her arm.

She also donned several statement jewelry pieces, including a turquoise necklace and matching earrings, as well as black wedge heels.

The same day the photos were taken, Eden attended the Hollywood Show, an autograph and pop culture expo, where she met her adoring fans, as seen in a video shared by the event’s Instagram account.

“What a ray of sunshine Ms Eden is! Beautiful inside and out. And there is no way she is in her 90s!” one fan remarked in the comments.

“She is definitely as beautiful as ever and she doesn’t look 95 at all ❤️,” another wrote, with a separate netizen adding, “Looking gorgeous at her age god bless 🙌 🙏 ❤️ to you Barbara Eden.”

Eden abruptly dropped out of an appearance at the Cinecon Classic Film Festival in early September due to a “sudden illness,” event organizers shared in a statement at the time.

The “Harper Valley PTA” actress was set to accept the Cinecon Legacy Award at the film festival, but Pat Boone — who starred alongside Eden in 1961’s “All Hands on Deck” and 1963’s “The Yellow Canary” — accepted the honor on her behalf.

Eden took to Instagram after the news spread to reassure fans she was “okay” and explain how the situation was completely overblown.

“Oh, my goodness there has been a bit of miscommunication,” her statement began. “I’m not suffering from an illness; my doctor very recently prescribed a brand-new medication that turned out to have some nasty side effects.”

“Due to the discomfort, my doctor ordered me to remain at home until it can be sorted out,” she added.

Eden called it “awful timing” and expressed her “deepest appreciation to everyone for the concern.”

“This is just a speedbump!” she concluded her post. “I expect to be out and about as soon as I’m given the go-ahead!”

Eden, who has an acting and singing career spanning over seven decades, celebrated her 95th birthday in August.

She is best known for playing the titular djinn on “I Dream of Jeannie” opposite Larry Hagman’s astronaut Anthony “Tony” Nelson on the hit NBC sitcom, which aired for five seasons between 1965 and 1970.
