Joy Behar, 84, leans on Sara Haines as she returns to ‘The View’ weeks after shoulder injury

Joy Behar, 84, made her return to “The View” on Tuesday morning with the help of co-host Sara Haines after a month away from the show following her shoulder injury.

Behar linked arms with Haines as the commentator helped guide her to her seat at the “Hot Topics” table, soundtracked by Elton John’s 1974 single, “The Bitch is Back.”

The comedian was met with roaring applause from the audience, as they all cheered for over one minute.

Tuesday’s episode marked Behar’s first day back on set since she dislocated her shoulder. She first missed the Oct. 1 episode, as well as the episode celebrating her birthday the following week.

Behar shared more details of her injury at the top of the show, revealing that she took a very bad fall.

“I mean, I went down hard, in this building. I dislocated my shoulder. I don’t know if that’s ever happened to anybody, but it’s worse than childbirth,” Behar said.

“I mean, I would have given up names to the CIA, that kind of torture, it was bad,” she joked.

She added that she was upset she hadn’t been on-air to talk about some of their recent “hot topics,” which included President Donald Trump complimenting Nicki Minaj’s backside.

“Even when I went down and went to the hospital, the doctor didn’t even look at my ass like that, with such love and affection,” Behar teased.

Her co-hosts — Haines, Whoopi Goldberg, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Sunny Hostin — then gushed over how much they missed the comedian.

“All jokes aside, it is, you know, we’re together a lot, and so when one of us is not around, you feel it,” Goldberg said.

Haines compared the cast to a family, adding that they go through all of the “ups” and “downs” in their lives together.

“Things happen, you can’t help it. I couldn’t help that I went down,” Behar said.

When Behar first injured her shoulder, Goldberg issued a statement on her co-star’s behalf.

“Despite sharing a birthday with Vladimir Putin, she does not have the Russian plague,” Goldberg said on the show at the time.

“She’s still healing up after dislocating her shoulder. What we’re saying is: Get better fast so we can celebrate you back here on ‘The View,’” she added.

The comedian, who has been on the show since 1997, previously missed the show for two weeks in June, as she was enjoying a European vacation.

“There’s been a lot of media attention on me lately because I’m taking off the next two weeks,” Behar said on the May 29 episode. “They’re calling it a hiatus. It’s not a hiatus.”

“I’m working,” she explained. “I have a planned trip overseas next week to work on my play, ‘My First Ex-Husband,’ in London.”
