Canadian family desperately ‘tried to fight off’ masked intruders before CEO and daughters shot, wife attacked

A Canadian family desperately tried to fight off masked intruders at their mansion before a real estate CEO father and his daughters were shot and his wife was attacked with a hammer, according to a report.

MAC Group boss David Morton and his family were attacked at their gated property in Toronto’s upscale Bridle Path neighborhood at around 3:45 a.m. Thursday.

Morton and his daughters, Maggie and Cristina Zohil-Morton, were shot and hit with a hammer as they “tried to fight off” three men wearing hoodies and ski masks, while his wife, Doriana Zohil-Morton, also sustained injuries from the hammer,  a source told the Toronto Sun.

Two of the victims suffered “life-altering injuries” and are still in hospital, while the others had non-life-threatening wounds, Toronto Police Service Inspector Kristy Smith said.

Wearing ski masks and hoodies, the suspects gained access to the six-bedroom residence through a back door, according to Smith.

The 7 bath home is valued at $2.1 million and includes a tennis court, in-ground pool and private gardens to “enhance a luxury lifestyle,” according to an online listing.

The intruders allegedly fled the ritzy nabe in an SUV, officials said.

Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow asked anyone with information, including any footage, to come forward and insisted, “violence is not acceptable in our city.”

“I am deeply troubled by the violent home invasion early this morning in the Bridle Path neighborhood. My thoughts are with the family and their loved ones, who are going through something no family should ever have to face. I am praying for their full recovery,” Chow wrote on X.
