Nutjob accused of murdering Oberlin professor dad, stepmom allegedly confessed on video — and tells court he’s non-binary
An Oregon madman who gunned down his dad, a professor at Oberlin College, and stepmother in their Ohio home allegedly copped to the killings in a recorded video, prosecutors revealed Thursday.
Daniel Jones, 31, was arraigned after he allegedly shot Pipo Nguyen-Duy, 64, and Nguyen-Duy’s wife, Thi Tran Phong, 56 and also torched his own car in an Oberlin parking lot Wednesday.
In court, he told the judge that his real name was Asia Nguyen-Duy — and asked to be identified using gender-neutral pronouns because he was non-binary, NBC reported.
Chilling courtroom footage captured by NBC shows four officers dragging a completely limp, catatonic Asia to the defense table Thursday — before he smugly grinned at reporters.
Prosecutors said Nguyen-Duy knocked on a stranger’s door after the gruesome killings and asked a woman to record a video so he could post it online.
In it, Nguyen-Duy confessed and claimed he was escaping a cult, the prosecutor said.
“Everything I did was on my own accord and I take full responsibility,” Nguyen-Duy said, the outlet reported.
The bodies of his parents were discovered on the first and second floors of their home, respectively, after police tracked down the son and conducted a welfare check on his family.
Inside the smoldering Toyota hatchback, firefighters found personal items stuffed in a cardboard box, including a passport and keys.
Live ammunition rounds were also recovered from Nguyne-Duy’s car.
Witness Greg Poirson told Fox 8 that Nguyen-Duy appeared soaked, disheveled and erratic when he last saw them — and had leapt out of a neighbor’s car and claimed he was fleeing a cult.
He was slapped with six counts of murder, four counts of felonious assault, and one count of tampering with evidence, and is being held in the Lorain County Jail.
Beginning in 2016, Nguyen-Duy had several run-ins with the laws, including for theft, invasion of personal privacy and reckless driving, according to court records obtained by The Post.
He is being held on a $3 million bond.
Plastered across his forehead is the acronym “EBK” — street slang for “everybody killa.”
Nguyen-Duy has also run a kooky YouTube channel since 2013, which includes several eccentric rants.
The latest video posted to it shows him shirtless wearing face paint, a head wrap and sagging pants while bizarrely playing the violin next to a highway.
The Oberlin Police Department and members of Nyguen-Duy’s family have not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
