2027 WNBA Finals odds: Lynx open as favorites, Liberty among top teams in East

The Golden State Valkyries captured the WNBA championship surviving a hard-fought seven-game series with Atlanta Dream to win their first title in franchise history.

It was the first championship series in league history to go a full seven games, and Gabby Williams was named MVP after averaging 19.6 points per game, including a 30-point outburst to seal Game 7 at home.

The victory signaled a shift at the top, snapping a four-year run dominated exclusively by the Las Vegas Aces and Liberty and potentially opening up a new era of parity in W.

Before the champagne dries, oddsmakers have already tabbed the futures board for next season.

At the time of this writing, the Minnesota Lynx are favored with +310 odds to win the 2027 WNBA championship on DraftKings Sportsbook.

After a 33-11 regular season, they suffered a stunning upset in the first round but whenever soon-to-be sophomore Olivia Miles gets going next season they could a handful for the rest of the league. Those odds could shift if Lynx star Napheesa Collier bolts Minnesota in free agency this summer.

Right behind them are the Aces at +340, looking to regain their standing as the league’s elite squad following a 31-13 regular season that earned them the No. 3 seed in the postseason. Their core of A’ja Wilson, Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young has been key to the franchise’s dynastic run over the past four seasons.

The Dream, this season’s Finals runner up, and the reigning champion Valkyries have the next-best odds at +400 and +450 respectively.

Rounding out the top five on the board are the Liberty and Fever, tied at +900, who each put together strong seasons and have big questions facing them in the offseason.

For the Liberty, questions around their head coach popped up after they were swept in the semifinal round of the playoffs and they haven’t exactly been put to bed since.

For the Fever, leading scorer and All-Star Kelsey Mitchell is a free agent this summer and her decision could be crucial for the league’s top offense.

Two weeks after the Finals, the league will set the stage for six franchises seeking to retool.

On Nov. 15, Houston, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Toronto, and Washington will participate in the 26th annual WNBA Draft Lottery to reshape their championship odds for next season.

For now, though, everyone is chasing the champs from the Bay Area.
