Police Chief Michael Pickett described the night as “two senseless acts of violence,” as witnesses described chaotic scenes during a tailgate outside of Birmingham’s Legion Field shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday, AL.com reported.
One person has been detained in connection with the shooting.

Officers heard “multiple gunshots” following an argument in a large crowd of Halloween revelers in the popular bar strip, Deputy Chief of Police Ryan Pedigo told WTHR.
The victims range in age from 17 to 27, and none are students or from Bloomington.
One 18-year-old was taken into custody, but police have not said whether he is the gunman. An AR-15-style handgun was also found at the scene.
Another weapon, an AK-47-style pistol, was found on one of the victims, cops said.
Multiple calibers of shell casings were found at the scene.
IU was celebrating homecoming and an overtime win over the Minnesota Golden Gophers earlier on Saturday — in addition to the Halloween festivities.
