King Charles struggles to hide his annoyance as he and Queen Camilla are caught in rainstorm during royal tour
Royal rainstorm.
King Charles III was visibly annoyed when he and Queen Camilla got caught in a torrential downpour during their royal tour of the Caribbean on Sunday.
The rain suddenly hammered down on the couple as they celebrated Antigua and Barbuda’s 45th independence anniversary parade at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
Camilla, 79, was quickly given an umbrella to shield her from the rain, while Charles, 77, could be seen looking around for help, wanting an umbrella of his own, according to a BBC video.
The monarch, who has cancer, was eventually given an umbrella and they continued on with the ceremony.
In a video shared by the Royal Family Instagram account, Charles could be heard joking to Prime Minister Gaston Browne, “I think I’m about to grow watercress on my suit.”
Charles wore a beige suit and colorful tie to the parade, while Camilla rocked a white Anna Valentine chiffon dress with gold embroidery.
Charles kicked off his nine-day royal tour of the Caribbean on Oct. 27, arriving in the Bahamas before he visited Guyana and then Antigua.
Camilla joined her husband on day five of the tour, as they both attended a church service at St. John’s Pentecostal House of Restoration on Sunday afternoon.
The former Duchess of Cornwall wore a turquoise sundress and matching earrings.
Charles and Camilla’s tour of the region comes amid continued calls for slavery reparations to be paid by the UK.
While speaking at a youth rally after landing in the Bahamas last Tuesday, Charles celebrated the country while acknowledging “the great suffering” of the past.
“I say transforming because we know some of what is best about Bahamian culture today: The most joyful, the most hopeful, the most bright, was born out of darkness,” he said, per People.
Charles added, “It is only right that we should acknowledge the great suffering and injustices of the past in these islands and beyond, even as we rejoice in the successes of the present and build new opportunities for the future.”
When Charles arrived at the event in Nassau, protesters gathered and shouted “pay us what you owe us” and “return artefacts you’ve stolen,” according to the BBC.
As Page Six previously reported, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Charles was being treated for benign prostate enlargement in January 2024.
Officials clarified that Charles was not diagnosed with prostate cancer; however, it was during that treatment that his cancer was detected.
In July 2025, Charles said his health improved significantly during a candid conversation with a cancer survivor.
That December, Charles revealed that “thanks to early diagnosis, effective intervention and adherence to doctors’ orders, my own schedule of cancer treatment can be reduced in the new year.”
Charles has continued to carry out his royal duties amid his cancer battle, though his son, Prince William, has occasionally stepped in for his father.
