Erin Benavides — woman linked to Eva Longoria, Tony Parker cheating scandal — official cause of death revealed
The official cause of death has been determined for Erin Benavides, the woman once accused of having an emotional affair with Eva Longoria’s ex-husband Tony Parker.
The Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office exclusively confirmed to Page Six that the 54-year-old former prosecutor’s cause of death was a self-inflicted “gunshot wound” and her manner of death was ruled a “suicide.”
The medical examiner’s office added that Benavides’ full autopsy report is not yet available but is expected to be completed within approximately a week.
The official ruling comes nearly three weeks after benavides was found dead inside her Port Aransas, Texas, home on Oct. 14.
As Page Six previously reported, police were called to the residence after a friend of Benavides’ husband received an alarming text message from her.
Officers forced their way inside, where they discovered Benavides with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
According to a police report obtained by Page Six, investigators documented three firearms and multiple bullets at the scene.
Benavides made headlines in 2010 after she was accused of having an emotional affair with Parker, who was married to the “Desperate Housewives” actress at the time.
