The Republican president had visited Long Island to help boost his friend Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman in his ill-fated gubernatorial run against Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul, who appeared to have beat him by double-digits, according to unofficial tallies.

Hochul could potentially have beaten Blakeman on his own turf in Nassau on Long Island once all votes are tabulated.

“We’re all talking about how Kathy Hochul carried Bruce Blakeman’s county,” Jacobs boasted.

Jacobs, who is also party chairman in Nassau, said there are about 5,000 paper and absentee ballots to be counted as Democrats have been winning them up 2-to-1.
