New Movies on Streaming: ‘Resident Evil,’ ‘Primetime,’ ‘Musk,’ and More

It’s quite a week for new movies on VOD, with some of the biggest pictures of the year arriving to digital platforms. This week, you can catch Robert Pattinson in Primetime, the Lance Oppenheim film about the ethically questionable goings-on behind the scenes of Dateline‘s “To Catch A Predator,” and Zach Cregger’s comedic and gory interpretation of Resident Evil.

Also out this week is Musk, the Alex Gibney documentary that Elon Musk doesn’t want you to see, as well as the Mahershala Ali action thriller Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother. Need some feminine energy instead? Check out Lady, the mockumentary starring Fleabag‘s Sian Clifford as a narcissistic aristocrat who hires a film crew to follow her.

These are just a few of the films that are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, and through your cable service this week. Check out what movies are available to buy or rent on demand now.

The latest film in the Resident Evil movie franchise was directed by Zach Cregger, who knocked it out of the park with his first two films, Barbarian and Weapons, and continues his hot streak with this latest release. The new film stars Austin Abrams as a medical courier named Bryan Hodukavich who ends up battling his way through a sea of infected, mutated people while on a delivery run in Raccoon City. Zach Cherry, Kalie Reis and Paul Walter Hauser also star.

Directed by documentary filmmaker Lance Oppenheim (who also co-directed the recently-released documentary You Can See Everything with Nathan Fielder) in his feature film debut, Primetime stars Robert Pattinson as Chris Hansen, the journalist who hosted NBC’s “To Catch a Predator” for Dateline NBC from 2004 to 2007, which involved luring alleged sexual predators who were purportedly seeking sex with a minor into a sting operation. The film arrived to digital platforms this week.
