Kimberly Guilfoyle returns to MAGA central — just weeks after spectacular fall from grace
WASHINGTON — Kimberly Guilfoyle has re-emerged in the heart of Trump land, attending a glitzy conservative gala at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday night and bringing a very MAGA gift.
The former ambassador to Greece, who resigned after reports of behavioral and financial issues, was thought to be in exile from President Trump and his world after her flameout last month.
But she appeared at the president’s Florida home at a gala for CPAC, the Conservative Political Action Conference, which was hosting a conference at the property.
Matt Schlapp, the chairman of CPAC, posted a photo on social media with Guilfoyle, wearing a black dress and dramatic makeup.
He revealed Guilfoyle bought a $15,000 painting of his wife Mercedes Schlapp, the former Trump White House and campaign aide.
The red, white and blue portrait of Schlapp’s face was painted by Elena Ruseva, known as the artist MAGA Langelo or MAGALANGELO.
Ruseva is pro-Trump painter who makes patriotic images of the president. She is a legal immigrant from Russia.
Gifting the painting was “beyond generous” of Guilfoyle, Matt Schlapp told The Post, adding he has a similar portrait of himself so both his and his wife’s could hang at CPAC headquarters.
Guilfoyle went from being the ex-wife of liberal Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom to being part of a beloved couple in the conservative world, engaged to the president’s eldest son.
Her ambassadorship, which came with a cushy house and pool in Athens, was said to be a consolation prize after Don Jr broke off their engagement and started dating his now-wife Bettina.
But Guilfoyle horrified the administration with reports of tyrannical behavior and a bombshell Wall Street Journal investigation revealing she asked former GOP congressional candidate Eric Deters for $100,000 to pay off her American Express card ahead of her confirmation hearing.
She resigned on Oct. 13, after then-White House press secretary Katie Zacharia, at her first and only briefing, said Trump had asked her to step aside.
Guilfoyle then slipped back to the US, camping out at a house in Palm Beach before attending the CPAC confab.
“My family has a long standing friendship with Kimberly and I invited her to come to our gala because I heard she was in town,” Schlapp said.
Guilfoyle, who was always popular among the MAGA faithful, got a “warm” reaction from the crowd, he said.
She was not paid for her appearance, he said, noting CPAC doesn’t pay for speeches. “Each and every time Kimberly has spoken at CPAC she did it to help the cause pro bono.”
Guilfoyle did not respond to inquiries from The Post.
Guilfoyle has been a regular at various CPAC events for years, sometimes shilling merchandise to the attendees. The influential conservative group hosts multiple gatherings around the country every year and has expanded its reach around the globe.
A longtime Trump loyalist, she furiously campaigned for the president and has thus far remained silent in her post-administration life.
Due to her long relationship with Don Jr. — which went from early 2018 to late 2024 — she got a rare glimpse into the Trump family’s most private conversations and dealings.
Sources told The Post Guilfoyle, known to be brash and diva-like, is unlikely to lash out at President Trump and his family because she may need a pardon over the scandal that forced her from office.
Such a move would save her from ruinous legal bills resulting from the criminal investigations and even spare her possible legal penalties.
