Kenyon Sadiq eager for Jets matchup with Travis Kelce as rookie navigates his own way: ‘Paved the path’

After spending a second-round pick on Mason Taylor last season, the Jets added another tight end, Kenyon Sadiq, with the 16th overall pick in this year’s draft.

On Sunday, they’ll go up against one of the gold standards at the position for the past 14 years in Travis Kelce.

Sadiq said he was introduced to Kelce while on a predraft visit with the Chiefs before the Jets snagged him 13 picks before Kansas City’s selection.

“Like a lot of guys, I kind of obviously grew up watching him,’’ Sadiq said of the future Hall of Famer. “He’s done a lot for the tight end position with the kind of pass catcher he is. We’re obviously a little different body-wise, but the way he catches the ball, you can always use that as an example of what to try to get to. I’m excited to see him and be on the same field.”
