FAA investigates after incoming plane executes go-around due to aircraft leaving from intersecting runway

The Federal Aviation Administration has indicated that it is looking into the matter after a Delta Air Lines flight carried out a go-around at an airport on Saturday due to another aircraft leaving from an intersecting runway.
“The crew of Delta Air Lines Flight 2351 executed a go-around at Boston Logan International Airport because another aircraft was departing from an intersecting runway,” the FAA noted in a statement provided to Fox News Digital.
“The FAA is investigating the event which occurred around 11:30 a.m. local time on Saturday, June 20,” the statement added.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, a Delta spokesperson said, “As nothing is more important than safety, the flight crew of Delta flight 2351 followed established procedures in coordination with Air Traffic Control and performed a go around on approach into Boston-Logan and landed safely.”
Delta informed Fox News Digital that there were 129 passengers and six crew members aboard the Saturday flight from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport in Texas to Boston Logan International Airport in Massachusetts.

During descent, onboard systems alerted the flight crew with an advisory regarding potential traffic, Delta explained, noting that the crew coordinated with air traffic control and carried out the go-around.
The airline indicated that its aircraft are outfitted with technology to alert crews to potential conflicts involving other aircraft.
