Three things to watch for in the Giants’ preseason game against the Jets on Friday night at MetLife Stadium:  

1. The season-ending knee injury to Calvin Austin III opens a spot at wide receiver, where there was going to be a squeeze to find a slot for Odell Beckham Jr.

Now, the pathway to the roster is more clear.

Does OBJ even play in this preseason finale?

Can Dalen Cambre make a final push to further impress the coaching staff?

Is Braxton Berrios now the No. 1 kick returner and also an option on offense in the slot?

2. There are spots to be won and lost at defensive tackle, and the very real possibility of the Giants looking to add from outside the organization once the cuts are made league-wide Sunday.

Darius Alexander is on the team, but he did not do enough to secure a starting spot.

Has veteran Leki Fotu or rookie Bobby Jamison-Travis wrapped up a place on the final roster?

The snap counts in this one will be interesting.

3. It sure seems as if rookie Dominic Zvada won the kicking derby in his summer duel with Ben Sauls.

Zvada’s field goal accuracy throughout camp was higher than Sauls’, and his leg strength was impressive.

Who gets the kicks in this game?

Is the competition already decided, and do the Giants put Sauls out there to make an impression on someone else — possibly the kicker-needy Jets?
