The Los Angeles Chargers don’t need to be reminded that their 0-2 start to the regular season is not ideal.

They surely don’t want to know how historically bad it has been.

After the Chargers’ 26-14 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, OptaSTATS posted on X, “The Chargers are the second team in NFL history to lose back-to-back games by double digits with both coming at home against teams that had a sub-.200 win pct the previous season.

“The other was the 1926 Racine Tornadoes (Oct. 10-17), who played just one more game before folding.”

The Raiders and the Arizona Cardinals, who the Chargers lost to last week, both went 3-14 last season.

Los Angeles were favorites in both games, and many around the league felt like they should breeze to a 2-0 start before their schedule gets significantly tougher.

Instead, the Chargers find themselves on the wrong side of NFL history that has not been done in a century.

One difference between the Chargers and the 1926 Racine Tornadoes is that Los Angeles doesn’t have to worry about folding.

Yet, there could be a tornado of changes coming soon within the organization if Los Angeles doesn’t right the ship very soon.
