Tampa Bay is a mess right now, and it might be time for Todd Bowles to be shown his walking papers. 

After blowing a double-digit lead at home to the Cleveland Browns, the Buccaneers open as short underdogs to the Vikings despite remaining at home in West Florida. 

And frankly that’s warranted. 

Baker Mayfield has looked disastrous, and the Vikings’ front seven is elite, which will always be coming at quarterbacks with a variety of creative blitz packages formulated by defensive guru Brian Flores.

Mayfield has played poorly, and the team is unprepared for something as simple as a 2nd-and-4 from the opponent with 24 two minutes left; it’s impossible to bet your money on this Tampa Bay team right now.

Vikings vs. Buccaneers prediction, best bet

Keep in mind, the Buccaneers are also missing two starting linebackers, Reuben Bain and Josiah Trotter.

Not exactly the precursor to beating a run-first offense that will need someone on defense to spy on Kyler Murray. 

I retired from betting on Baker Mayfield last week when they blew a double-digit lead at home to the Browns, and the Vikings are the play this weekend. 

Betting on the NFL?

The Buccaneers are rated No. 20 in DVOA, while the Vikings rank No. 9. 

Unless you’re expecting better performances from Mayfield and the rest of the disappointing Buccaneers, I don’t see how you wager on them as currently constructed.
