Dodgers dynasty ends with loss to Brewers in NLCS, former NL MVP predicts

The Dodgers are on the verge of elimination in the National League Championship Series.

The Brewers have won three straight games to push the Dodgers to the edge, and most people believe the back-to-back World Series champions are finished this October.

Former Reds first baseman Joey Votto, the NL MVP in 2010, believes the Dodgers dynasty is officially at its end.

“The Dodgers have been a major disappointment, and I just think it’s one of those dynasties ending,” Votto said on “Foul Territory.”

If the Dodgers get swept by the Brewers in four games, several questions regarding the franchise’s future need to be addressed.

While the quest of a three-peat has largely dominated narratives surrounding the juggernaut this season, an early exit in the postseason could propel the next steps for the organization as the pinnacle focus of the offseason.

The Dodgers will have to address the direction of the organization after a disappointing 2026 season. With an aging roster, the Dodgers will likely look to get younger.

Veterans with expiring contracts may not return, and the front office will likely be active in trading or acquiring new faces if the Dodgers look to orchestrate a semi-rebuild this winter.

One thing is clear, it was always championship or bust with the Dodgers this year.
