Will the Giants go for Jonathan Taylor? Where they can turn for a true lead running back
October 24, 2026
John Harbaugh didn’t name Jonathan Taylor when he said he would love the Giants to be in a situation with a lead back like Saquon Barkley or Derrick Henry.
But seemingly everyone else has added Taylor’s name to the conversation, especially in the aftermath of the Colts firing general manager Chris Ballard.
One well-placed NFL source familiar told The Post he would be surprised if the Colts’ plan was a complete teardown that included selling off core pieces like guard Quenton Nelson and Taylor.
And it might be surprising to think of the Giants as a team that would spend big on a running back after they let Barkley walk in free agency rather than meet his request for a $12 million average on a three-year deal in 2024.
