What a difference a year makes.

Last summer, David Geffen and Donovan Michaels were locked in a messy divorce that leaked into the public sphere. In fact, the former model filed a bombshell lawsuit accusing the Hollywood titan of subjecting him to painful laser hair removal and dental treatments — and then ghosting him when Michaels got sober.

But sources tell Page Six Hollywood that the two appeared to be very much back together during a high-seas outing last month on Geffen’s 454-foot mega-yacht.

In June, the pair was shockingly photographed together on the vessel. Pics at that time didn’t show any PDA, but the duo appeared to be on friendly terms.

Their October reunion has surprised industry players. “The heart wants what the heart wants,” says one insider with knowledge of the (floating) palace intrigue. We’ve reached out to Geffen and Michaels for comment.

The surprise reunion marks quite a reversal for the couple, whose acrimonious split included the breach of contract lawsuit filed by Michaels in Los Angeles Superior Court in July 2025 that spilled plenty of tea about the alleged bacchanalian excess aboard Geffen’s yacht, Rising Sun.

The couple’s courtship echoes an alt-version of “Pretty Woman.” Geffen, 83, who is worth an estimated $9.7 billion and is 50 years older than Michaels, 33, met his future husband on SeekingArrangements.com, a website “where men like Geffen shop for the vulnerable,” the complaint stated.

It continued: “Geffen learned of Michaels’ troubled past — his history of neglect, poverty, instability, and legal entanglements. Rather than respond with empathy or offer genuine support, Geffen saw Michaels as an object of exploitation: a young, attractive and gay black man whose trauma could be weaponized for Geffen’s personal gratification.”

The exploitation included alleged access to a variety of illicit drugs, including cocaine, molly and cannabis. The complaint stated: “Michaels was expected to use drugs along with Geffen and his friends, who occasionally enjoyed using hard drugs as a group on the superyacht, and he did his best to keep up with Geffen’s fast lifestyle, however, Michaels’ traumatic past was an emotional ticking timebomb and the drugs only increased Michaels’ inner turmoil and stress symptoms.” (At the time, Geffen’s attorney Patricia Glaser, the Zelig-like fave litigator of Page Six Hollywood, called the lawsuit “pathetic.”)

Michaels dropped his claim in October 2025, and a confidential settlement was reached the following month. The divorce was finalized this year in April.

Prior to their breakup, the relationship seemed to be coasting along just fine, at least for Geffen. But Michaels’ lawsuit last year alleged that when he decided to enter treatment and began working the 12 Step Program of Alcoholics Anonymous, his sobriety allegedly put a wedge between the two men.

“Geffen did not want a healthier Michaels. He wanted control and submission,” the complaint said. (Geffen previously denied all the allegations in the lawsuit.)

Fortunately for Geffen, all of that annoying abstinence appears to be a thing of the past. We hear that the party is back on for the thirtysomething Michaels. (“Didn’t you know doing molly with celebrities was Step 17 of AA?” quips one source familiar with the Geffen-Michaels relationship.)
