Cardinals vs. Seahawks prediction: NFL Week 9 odds, picks bets

The Seahawks haven’t exactly looked like the defending Super Bowl champions of late.

Seattle has lost two of its past three games, averaging just 12.3 points during that stretch.

The latest setback was particularly ugly, a 34-17 home loss to the Bears in primetime Monday night in which the Seahawks struggled to establish any offensive rhythm.

Now, a trap game is waiting for them on Sunday.

Quarterback Sam Darnold has been ruled out with a quad injury, leaving backup signal-caller Drew Lock in line to start.

Lock has been dealing with an elbow injury of his own, which kept him inactive the past two weeks and still limited him in practice this week.

That’s a difficult situation for a team already struggling to move the football consistently on the ground with just 3.9 yards per rushing attempt through the first eight weeks, which is well below league-average.

Arizona, meanwhile, has reason to feel optimistic after Sunday’s thrilling 33-30 overtime win against the Cowboys.

Gardner Minshew replaced a struggling Jacoby Brissett with the Cardinals trailing 17-3 and completely transformed the offense, completing 17 of 23 passes for 188 yards and three touchdowns.

His performance was impressive enough that coach Mike LaFleur named him the starter moving forward and later traded Brissett to the Ravens.

There are concerns about Arizona’s injury-riddled offense, and Lock did throw three touchdowns when Seattle crushed the Cardinals, 31-7, earlier this season.

But the Seahawks are hardly firing on all cylinders right now, and Lock’s injury adds another layer of uncertainty.

Betting on the NFL?

Seattle also faces a shorter turnaround after playing Monday night.

The Seahawks might still win, but asking this version of their offense to produce an 11-point victory feels like too much.

The play: Cardinals +10 (-115, FanDuel Sportsbook)
